Occasionally we breed a litter for the serious Kuvasz lover. Because we’ve broadend our knowledge by following canine studies courses KK-I and KK-II, relating to behaviour, food, reproduction/breeding, genetics, etc. and also because we participate in symposia and attend lectures, we are able to offer you a good imprented and wel socialized puppy which grows up in our home. We can also offer you support and advice in taking care of your dog.
We have 3 important aims in breeding: “Health,
Character and Wellbeing”. A Kuvasz is characterized by his temperament and
strong self-willed gardian. He is affectionate towards the family and gets along
well with children (as long as he’s been imprented and socialized properly).
You may ask what is ‘imprented and socialized properly’, well this means that a puppy in ther very early stages of his life, 3 – 6 weeks, must come into contact with all sorts of things. For example: other dogs in all colours and sizes, babies, toddlers, teenagers, adults, the elderly, passers by, cyclists, cars, a running tap, a flushing toilet, a washingmachine, a mixer, a vacumm cleaner, sitting in a car, a garbage bag, a cock crowing, sheep, cows, horses, chickens and all sort of other things. All of the things that a dog can encounter in its lifetime.
The puppys are born in our home. After 3 weeks they
meet the outside world and during the time that they are with us they can come
freely in and out of the house. We
regularly have visitors, who come and meet the puppys and play with them.
Because of they are sociable towards people and other animals. Because they go in and
out, they are almost house-trained when they leave. Later on, in the socialization fase which lasts from 6 – 12 weeks, it is important that the puppy yet again comes into contact whith all the things he encountered during the imprenting fase. These
periods are the blueprint for the rest of the puppys life. If a puppy is not
brought into contact with these things, during both the imprenting and
socialization periode, then the dog can encounter serious problems during this
lifetime.
When our puppys go to their new owners, we hope
they will continue the upbringing with as much passion and commitment as we did.
This so the new owners can enjoy a well-behaved dog both inside and outside the
family home. |
